TEXT-TO-VIDEO AI
🌠 Dream Machine: The New Free AI Video Generator You Can Use Now

Luma AI's Dream Machine offers a taste of the future of AI video generation, available for free with some limitations.

Cool, but far from perfect

The Reverie

Luma AI has launched Dream Machine, a new AI video generator that rivals OpenAI's Sora.

This tool is available for free and allows users to create short, high-quality video clips from text prompts, though it comes with some limitations and a high demand queue.

At first glance it looks cool even though it has some obvious issues. This reminds of me of the early days of Midjourney in 2022, and we all know how quickly Midjourney and text-to-image has progressed over the past two years. I’m looking forward to following the development form Luma AI.

The Details

  • Dream Machine generates five-second video clips at a resolution of 1360x752 from text prompts.

  • The free plan allows up to 30 generations per month, with paid plans offering more.

  • Dream Machine is part of a growing trend in AI video generation, competing with other tools like OpenAI's Sora and Kling AI from China.

Why should you care?

The launch of Dream Machine signifies a major step forward in making AI video generation accessible to the public. As AI tools become more advanced and widespread, they offer new opportunities for content creation, marketing, and entertainment.

Dream Machine's free availability allows users to experiment with text-to-video already. OpenAI’s SORA is not yet available to the public. Source
